Strange

'Strange' is in honour and ode to my muse, my wife France. It is based on one of my favourite poems 'Bei Hennef' from D.H/ Lawrence.
Materials: House paint and ink on hardboard. Frame made of 'Rimu', a New Zealand hard wood found beneath our house.

Homeland

'Homeland': Being removed from your friends and family and the manner of how you deal with that is the main aspect of how to gauge your success as an emigrant. The sum of your own blood ( far, far away) and the pain it can cause is equal to all memories of your homeland. The idea was born after finding this fencepost with barbed wire on the beach. The background relates to the textures of life.

Material: drift wood, house paint, ink. Frame made by New Zealand 'native'     Matai hout.

Skywind

Skywind: A farewell to my mother and Holland. For poetic license I mentioned God, although i am a born atheist. The title refers to all the emotions i felt, outside in the garden, after the moment of my mother's death and I looked up to the sky and the racing clouds and I wished her good travels.
